Special 30-year anniversary Pokémon Presents announced

Pokémon Day 2026 is set to be a major one and the festivities have already began with a major Nintendo Switch announcement this morning and confirmation of next Friday’s Pokémon Presents showcase.

Pokémon Day 2026 marks the franchise’s 30-year celebration and with a nice round number like that, we expect big things. 

More details Pokopia? A brand new mainline Pokémon title? A new re-release for Switch 2 of a classic game? Hopefully all of it and definitely the latter as Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen have now been confirmed for release on Switch immediately after the Pokémon Presents next week – pre-order listings are already live on the eShop. 

Alongside the reveal of Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen for Switch, we also now know this year’s major Pokémon Presents will go live Friday, February 27 at 6:00 a.m. PT/9 a.m. PT. 

This Pokémon Day marks the beginning of Pokémon’s 30-year celebration! Start the festivities off right by tuning in to a new Pokémon Presents presentation on Friday, February 27, 2026, at 6:00 a.m. PST. Visit the official Pokémon YouTube, Twitch, Instagram, or TikTok channel at that time to get the latest news and updates from the world of Pokémon—then get ready for a year’s worth of Pokémon fun!

This year marks 30th anniversary of the Pokémon franchise and things are already kicking off in a major way.

LEGO already revealed the first official Pokémon sets that are now set for release on February 27:

  • LEGO Pokémon Pikachu and Poké Ball $200
  • LEGO Pokémon Eevee $60
  • LEGO Pokémon Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise $650
