New Pokémon Game Boy music player announced for 30th anniversary with tracks from original Pokémon Red and Blue games

Update: Nintendo’s new Pokémon Game Boy music player is now up for grabs for $69.99 shipped. More details in the original post below.

As part of the announcements from the 30th anniversary Pokémon Presents for Pokémon Day 2026, Nintendo just teased a jukebox with the shape of a Game Boy. Nintendo really loves teasing fans with Game Boy nostalgia – first the LEGO Game Boy last year, and now this. This Game Boy-inspired jukebox lets you play retro tracks from the original Pokémon Red and Blue. Check out more details below, along with the trailer.

This particular retro music player looks small enough to fit in the palm of your hands, yet it can play all 45 songs from the original games. “We took particular care to make the audio sound just like Game Boy,” Pokémon Red and Blue composer Junichi Masuda said during the stream. Check out the official trailer below.

It appears that you’ll need to swap in cartridges for each track, and they all have images and screenshots from the original games on them for added nostalgia. There’s no official information on the pricing for this Game Boy jukebox yet, but it should be up on the Pokémon Center site later today. We’ll update this space with more info on the pricing, so be sure to keep an eye.
