Grand Theft Auto 6 pre-orders begin next week according to Best Buy

It has been years since Grand Theft Auto 6 was announced, and now, two early trailers later and after a couple of release date delays, it appears as though Best Buy just made a giant mistake, or GTA 6 pre-orders start next week.

When do GTA 6 pre-orders go live?

GTA 6 developer Rockstar is yet to make any official announcement, but it very much appears as though it will be making one very soon if today’s “leak” is indeed the real thing.

Grand Theft Auto 6 pre-orders begin next week, or at least that’s what Best Buy seems to think. It has been nearly two and half years since GTA 6 was officially announced, but now, roughly 6 months ahead of the November release date, pre-orders are set to go live in just days from now.

Reports have flooded the internet suggesting Best Buy has sent out an email to folks priming them for GTA 6 pre-orders. 9to5Toys has also received this email.

It wouldn’t be the first time a retailer like this has outed a major release date, but it also wouldn’t be the first time one of them made a giant mistake and is just completely wrong. This one appears to be the real thing though.

Again, Rockstar has yet to make any official announcement regarding Grand Theft Auto pre-orders, but we are going to be almost exactly 6 months out from the November 19 release date and we might very well see an official announcement any time now.

According to Best Buy, GTA 6 pre-orders begin next week on May 18, 2026 and likely very early in the morning. There is, however, no specific time mentioned though, nor the retail price – this thing could land at upwards of $100, according to reports and hints from the developer.

This same email has appeared everywhere, and we are yet to get any kind of correction issued from Best Buy or its reps on the date. It appears to be the real thing, and I certainly hope it is, but it is also still early in the day and things could change. If retailers are already ramping up for GTA 6 pre-orders, and Rockstar truly planned to open the flood gates on Monday, it might be too late for anything to change now.

In the mean time, dive into the two official trailers for GTA 6 ahead of what appears to be the official pre-order start time next week:
