Grand Theft Auto 6 Online, or single-player only?

Grand Theft Auto 6 pre-orders are set to go live later tonight and Rockstar has finally announced the price, and it’s not cheap – especially considering it looks like there will be no online action.

Grand Theft Auto 6 will go up for pre-order and launch at $79.99 for the standard edition and $99.99 for the Deluxe. That’s more or less as expensive as games get these days, but this is GTA VI and it certainly could have been much worse – rumors suggested the thing could have been $100 for starters.

Rockstar has also delivered the goods on what that $100 Deluxe edition will actually consists of now, and some folks will, perhaps, not be happy all those goodies will be locked behind a premium pay wall.

Will there be a new Grand Theft Auto 6 Online? Or single-player only?

But another thing plenty of soon-to-be Vice City criminals are wondering about is GTA 6 Online. As of right now, Rockstar has not really made a definitive statement about future plans, but it appears as though there will be no new online action at launch as it has stated that the game will only feature a “single-player experience” on launch day. The FAQ on the PlayStation Store says as much as well.

This, of course, does not mean a new GTA 6-based online experience is out of the question, but appears as though the existing GTA Online will remain live for the time being and likely into next year when Rockstar will hopefully reveal some sort of upgrade or an entirely new connected GTA world.
