Black Myth: Wukong turned out to be even better than it looked ahead of release, and Game Science is already hard at work on its follow-up, Black Myth: Zhong Kui. The sequel of sorts was officially revealed on-stage with Geoff Keighley during Opening Night Live from gamescom 2025, but the anticipated sequel has gone mostly quiet since…until now.
If you ask me, Game Science did this all the way right. No drip-feed\= updates, no trailers for trailers, just a straight-up, solid 15 minutes of gameplay to gives folks a proper look at how the game is coming along.
Sure some would prefer and very much do like to go in dark on new games, but for the rest of us, these fluff-free reveals and early looks at games that side-step all the talking and trailers are just perfect.
Here’s a 15-minutes of (mostly) unedited gameplay (and what appear to be a few quick cutscenes) for the upcoming Black Myth: Zhong Kui – it looks stunning and Game Science might very well have another record-breaking Black Myth title on is hands here:
Set against the backdrop of the classic Chinese folktale ‘Zhong Kui Banishing Evil,’ Black Myth: Zhong Kui is a single-player action role-playing game rooted in ancient Chinese fantasy. The game will deliver distinctive experiences and gameplay features that push our limits, while also bringing fresh ideas and necessary changes to address past flaws and regrets.
There is no release date, or even a window yet, but at least we know the thing is coming along nicely.
