Moskito turns an analog smartwatch into a full functioning bike computer in mere seconds

The Moskito Smartwatch hit Kickstarter recently with the goal of combining a number of devices into one attractive wearable. Obviously, the smartwatch market is very crowded these days with Apple, Garmin, and many others trying their hand at this trend. Moskito attempts to standout from the pack with an elegant design and a unique full-featured bicycle computer that can track a number of stats. This watch looks like your typical analog timepiece, but it’s powered by Swiss tech that includes a precision quartz movement. It has a Bluetooth 4.0 radio for iPhone and Android connectivity that can be used to transfer fitness data between devices.

Moskito has three different modes of use, including time, speed and chronograph. Each of which provides a different data set for users. The first acts just like a traditional watch while the other two focus on activity. Speed functions just like a bike computer, with the second hand displaying your current MPH while the minute is used to communicate distance traveled. Chronograph keeps tracks of the rider’s splits and overall progress. With 19 days remaining, Moskito has raised just over $54,000 of its $147,000 goal. Currently, a pledge of $525 will deliver a watch in Q3 2017.

In addition to its function as a chronograph, M O S KI T O is an analogue tachometer that tells you everything you need to know: your current speed, the distance travelled, and your average speed. But that’s not all: Would you like to know if you have set a new personal best on a specific section of the route? Your M O S KI T O tells you in real time in the challenge mode. After your ride you can easily upload your data to Strava or Garmin Connect.
