It was almost a year ago to the day that Amazon made the controversial decision to bump its free shipping minimum up to $49 for non-Prime members. Well, today the online giant had a change of heart. As of now, orders of $35 or more will be eligible for no-cost delivery. This likely comes in response to Walmart’s recent change to its shipping policy, which also set the minimum at $35. You can get the full details on Amazon’s latest move here on the shipping FAQ page. More below.

Of course, subscribers to Amazon’s $99 Prime service receive free two-day shipping and a ton of other perks…

You receive free shipping if your order includes at least $35 of eligible items or $25 of books (in which case all other eligible items in the order also ship free). Any item with “FREE Shipping” messaging on the product detail page, that is fulfilled and shipped by Amazon, is eligible and contributes to your free shipping order minimum. You can get unlimited FREE Two-Day Shipping on eligible items with Amazon Prime. No minimum spend is required to qualify. Canceling items, combining orders, or changing your shipping address, speed, or preference might affect your order’s free shipping eligibility.
