Mortal Kombat developer NetherRealm Studios releases new free-to-play WWE iOS/Android fighter

The WWE and NetherRealm Studios, makers of the Mortal Kombat series, have teamed up for a new free-to-play mobile fighter known as WWE Immortals. Built off the same engine running the company’s mobile Injustice: Gods Among Us title, it reimagines popular WWE characters and features familiar gameplay mechanics with a host of alternate classes for each fighter.

Along with simple tap controls, NeatherRealm is also injecting its own lore into the world of WWE with the new character variations. John Cena, for example, will have an alternate superhero like persona, as well as other unlockable versions:
