Knomo’s water-resistant LiveFree bag offers wireless charging on the go

Whether it be on your daily commute, for work, vacation, or traveling, you’ll most likely be packing a computer, multiple chargers and other items with you. A lot of the time, what we use to actually transport our gear is nowhere near as important as the devices themselves. With Knomo’s LiveFree backpack, this couldn’t be any less true. So for those looking to add a greater sense of security to their everyday carry as well as a bit of extra functionality, look no further.

Having recently launched on Kickstarter, LiveFree is the latest project unveiled by the London-based mobile accessory company Knomo. Armed with over 12 years of experience designing ‘beautiful and intelligent’ products, the backpack hopes to be a culmination of the company’s past efforts.

Visually speaking, LiveFree is practically your typical backpack. It offers the essential features you’d expect to find in a traditional bag like padded shoulder straps, a sleeve for holding your water bottle and plenty of storage pockets. The backpack’s material is really where it begins to shine in the design department. LiveFree is comprised of a heavy-duty cotton canvas which repels rain and other light exposures to water. The material also sports RFID blocking to ensure your bank cards are safe from snoopers.

Looking into the interior, LiveFree’s main compartment offers a sleeve which fits laptops up to 15.6-inches and one for 10-inch tablets as well. In other sections of the bag you’ll find cable management pocket  and other storage spaces which offer quick access for storing things like headphones.

LiveFree is feature-rich in the tech department as well. To help combat any anxiety associated with losing your belongings, the bag offers a Bluetooth tracking tag thanks to a partnership with Chipolo. This allows you to view the last known location of the bag and also play an alarm to help locate it in the event of being misplaced. More notably is LiveFree’s incorporated inductive wireless charging functionality. Deemed DropGo, the company’s patent-pending technology allows you to simply slip your phone into the bag’s side pocket and instantly fuel up your device on the go. There’s no word on how long the backpack’s internal battery will last. At launch, the Knomo will offer support for iPhone and the Samsung S6/7. The iPhone version of the bag will include a case in order to take advantage of the wireless charging functionality.

The bag is currently available on for preorder Kickstarter and has passed its funding goal, raising $65,071. Starting at the early bird price of $237, you can score a LifeFree with location tracking beacon. If you’re aching to get a bag with all the bells and whistles, it’ll run you $313. It will be shipping later this year in September to backers as long as all goes well for the rest of the campaign.

For 12 years, KNOMO’s mission has been to create beautiful, intelligent, accessories that allow people to get life organised and live free. The #LiveFree Backpack is a culmination of our focus on the digital nomad lifestyle, and the thousands of reviews and comments we have received from customers on the move. We wanted to try and create the perfect 24/7 bag, and so we are excited to introduce the #LiveFree Backpack exclusively to Kickstarter. Smart enough for meetings, durable enough to take away on weekends and packed with cutting-edge technology.
