Smart Garden has taken Kickstarter by storm with its big claims and beautiful produce

Growing veggies at home isn’t always the easiest proposition. In fact, it can be down right difficult. Products like AeroGarden have tried to remedy this situation with artificial lighting and other features. This week, a new Kickstarter project called ‘The Smart Garden‘ launched to massive success. It’s headlined by big promises, which early backers have jumped all over. The company behind this project claims that its garden can grow fresh produce “with 95% less water” than competitors.

So how does it work? Smart Garden uses a proprietary system that maintains pH, water and oxygen levels in your dirt. The only catch is, you’ll have to use its soil versus providing your own (for guaranteed results). It’s layered with special nutritional matter that is devoid of any chemicals. Built-in LED lights have to nurture your plants over time. Smart Garden is aimed at inner-city residents that simply want to grow plants without all of the effort. It is currently available on Kickstarter with a $129 price tag and a April 2017 ship date.

In the meantime, check out Miracle-Gro’s AeroGarden kits as a cost-effective alternative.

From crisp kale and spicy chilli to sweet strawberry and calming mint, this self-growing garden helps all plants thrive, automatically making sure they have the right amounts of water, light, oxygen, and nutrients. With healthy foods grown right on your windowsill, you can enjoy a higher quality of life 24/7. Our system is the easiest indoor gardening solution on the market, and it involves far less noise than the hydroponic systems. All you have to do is fill the water tank, plug the garden in and boom! – the Smart Garden 9 takes it from there.
