PolarPro has been the go-to brand for DJI and GoPro accessories ever since it launched back in 2011. So it’s no surprise that this week it is unveiling a new line of Spark-focused lenses, filters and carrying cases. These new “cinematic” optics are designed to help pilots of DJI’s gesture-controlled drone get the most out of their flying experience. As well, the new Soft Case aims to offer greater protection over the included storage that ships with each Spark unit. Head below for more.

DJI’s Spark drone is billed as an entry-level quadcopter for new pilots that are experiencing flying a quadcopter for this first time. This combined with the $499 price tag resulted in a few less features than its larger siblings the Mavic Pro and Phantom 4. That includes being limited to 1080p video and a 2-axis gimbal. PolarPro looks to upgrade the optics experience with three and six-packs of filters that deliver “better overall color saturation and image quality.”

These filters are designed to enhance color saturation, eliminate glare and create a neutral density image. Each filter is said to be made from lightweight aircraft aluminum so as to not affect gimbal performance.

PolarPro is offering two different packs of filters, starting at $50 for a fixed polarizer, ND8 and ND16 add-on. Jumping up to the $100 six-pack brings fixed PL, ND8/PL, ND16/PL, ND8, ND16, and ND32 filters. So you’ll get a few more options when it comes to lighting with the upgraded collection.

This week’s news also delivers an upgraded $25 soft case for DJI Spark owners. Although a carrying case is included with purchase, it leaves much to be desired. Like previous iterations, the included box is made from styrofoam and ultimately could offer more features. PolarPro’s case allows pilots to keep the propellers installed at all-times (as does DJI’s) but adds extra space for two additional batteries. There’s also a carabineer loop and the entire case zips up, while the stock option from DJI does not have any secure way of keeping your drone from falling out.

I’ve been using PolarPro’s accessories for about five years now. While its prices may be higher than knock-offs you’ll find on Amazon, the quality is top-notch in my experience. Adding filters to your drone or GoPro helps to enhance colors in a way that is typically reserved for post-production work. If you’re looking to go next level, I’d recommend checking out PolarPro’s entire lineup.

PolarPro Launches Accessories for New DJI® Spark

PolarPro’s new lens filters and travel case help DJI® Spark owners capture the best quality drone footage of their adventures.

Costa Mesa, C.A. – July 11, 2017 – Today, PolarPro, developer of products inspired by adventure, announced availability of new cinematic lens filters and a purpose-built travel case for DJI® Spark owners looking to get the most out of their new gesture-controlled drone.  Known for producing some of the industry’s highest quality lens filters for action cameras and consumer drones, PolarPro’s new Spark filter sets include a series of polarizing and neutral density filters to help flyers improve overall color saturation and image quality. Combined with the company’s new Spark Soft Case, owners of the follow-me platform are ready to go just about anywhere. PolarPro’s full complement of offerings for the Spark can be found here

“The amazing confluence of technologies in the new DJI Spark make it a compact, go anywhere solution ideal for filmmaking on the fly, and its gesture controls allow videographers to capture some amazing perspectives,” said Jeff Overall, CEO of PolarPro. “Like most consumer-level drones, our new Spark Filter Sets can help optimize those results by slowing the shutter speed with our neutral density filters and boosting the color rendering with our combo polarizing filters.”

PolarPro Spark Filter 3-Pack & 6-Pack

While manufacturers like DJI are making the drone operations as simple as possible for consumers, creating smooth cinematic video content from a drone-mounted camera requires a little help along the way. The PolarPro DJI Spark Filter Packs (available in three and six filter sets) include neutral density (ND) filters to help reduce shutter speed to smooth out video, polarizing filters to eliminate glare and enhance color saturation, and combination polarized ND filters when both effects are required. To prevent the added weight of the filter from impacting the smooth gimbal function, PolarPro uses weight-limiting yet durable aircraft aluminum frames and industry-leading HD glass for razor sharp clarity. All filters are compatible with the DJI Spark camera’s start-up initialization and have been stress tested to be within the maximum weight-limit that the gimbal can safely handle.

The PolarPro Spark Filter 3-Pack includes a fixed Polarizer, ND8 and ND16 and retails for $49.99. More information on the included filters can be found here:

Retailing for $99.99, the PolarPro Spark 6-Pack includes a fixed PL, ND8/PL, ND16/PL, ND8, ND16, and ND32 filters. More detail on this package can be found here:
