We recently had a chance to go hands-on with WaterField’s Air Porter leather laptop bag. That option is particularly useful for traveling and as a carry-on, but today we are looking at the company’s new briefcase-meets-gym bag with the new Atlas Executive Athletic Holdall.
Luxury Book iPhone 7 Plus Case
Designed to allow business professionals to seamlessly transition from the office to the gym, the new Atlas Executive features a padded laptop compartment for your MacBook along with several pockets for additional accessories, workout apparel and more.
As usual, you can expect WaterField’s premium materials here including 1050 denier black ballistic nylon or brown waxed canvas with full-grain leather accents. The leather handle, removable suspension strap and waterproof zippers are nice touches as well. Once again, the folks at WaterField have included a small slot along the back allowing the Athletic Holdall bag to slide nicely on to your suitcase’s telescopic handle. This is always a nice touch and definitely comes in handy in the airport.
The gold-lined interior is split into three main compartments. The Briefcase area houses your electronics, the Athletic Workout section carries your workout gear and there is even a collapsible shoe pouch for your runners. You’ll also find a pair of padded pockets for your laptop/tablet along with additional areas for your smaller accessories. The laptop compartment is ample space for up to 15-inches of MacBook goodness, and the tablet pocket will support anything up to 13-inches. Along the front, there are zippered pockets to keep your keys, wallet, cards and other smaller items secure as well.
Many of us who commute to work and like to stay fit, carry both a briefcase and a gym bag every day, but I’d prefer to carry just one — something to take from workout-to-work, and vice versa…The work-gym bags available didn’t have the internal organization I need, so we designed one that keeps the professional aesthetic of a briefcase, improves interior organization and expands functionality to carry athletic gear.
All-in-all this sounds like a pretty roomy bag. While some might not like the idea of carrying a business-looking carrier to the gym, there’s no denying the convenience here.
The new Atlas Executive Athletic Holdall is now up for pre-order at $429 with a January 19th shipping date. While that isn’t going to make it in time for Christmas, any orders placed before December 31st will also receive a WaterField Duo Dopp Kit bag ($79 value) for free.
