Amazon unveils new 40% thinner metal Echo Show 16 at $100 off

Amazon has just unveiled a slate of all-new smart Alexa gear including a solid $100 pre-order discount on the brand new Echo Show 16.

All-new Amazon Alexa gear:

  • Echo Show 16 from $400
    • Customers who preorder Echo Show 16 get $100 off.
  • Amazon Echo Dot $100
  • Amazon Echo Studio with Home Camera $250
  • Amazon Alexa Photo Frame from $200
  • Amazon Echo Time $200

Amazon says it’s all-new Echo Show 16 smart home hub display is completely redesigned “with a stunning 16-inch full high-definition screen—available in standard vibrant and Nanomatte displays.”

The all-new Echo Show 16 is now available for pre-order at $100 off using code CLAIM100 at checkout (or clip the on-page coupon). Shippoing will begin on December 16.

Described as a “full-time family organizer, smart home dashboard, or digital photo frame,” the new Echo Show also includes a full Fire TV experience built in with what Amazon describes as “seamless integration with your favorite streaming services, and a remote control in the box.”

The new 16-inch model features 10% more viewing area than the Echo Show 15 and colors twice as vibrant housed in an anodized aluminum frame that is nearly 40% thinner than previous models.

Amazon has also upgraded the audio architecture with eight custom micro woofers and two tweeters – Advanced Room Adaptation “continuously optimizes playback for its surroundings—whether mounted on the wall or sitting on the counter on one of two custom stand accessories.”

All of that joins Amazon’s “most advanced Echo Show camera” yet and, for the first time, it also includes added night vision to “to check in on your home day or night with Live View” in the Alexa app:

…all-new wide-angle 13-megapixel camera and the widest field of view we’ve ever offered on an Echo Show. We’ve more than doubled the range of Visual ID, from 8 to up to 17 feet, so Alexa can recognize you from across the room.

The whole physical design of the new unit takes on a more sleek and modern look for me. Trading out the somewhat bulky speaker base found on the new Apple HomeView, it looks more like a mini iMac or something along those lines.
