What is Amazon Prime Now?

Back when Amazon purchased Whole Foods, we knew it was only a matter of time before they’d start offering shopping benefits to Prime members. A few weeks ago we reported that Whole Foods would begin offering Prime users exclusive discounts alongside an additional 10% off across hundreds of the store’s items.

Sadly, not every Whole Foods shopper was able to lock in the benefits, as only locations in Florida were privy to the deals and rewards. Today, Amazon will be changing that, expanding the Whole Foods Prime members to 12 additional states, encompassing 365 total stores.

While only Florida Whole Foods locations could originally take advantage of the benefits, now Amazon is bringing the very same perks to other locations, primarily those in the Rocky Mountain and Southwest regions of the United States. These include Arkansas, Colorado, Utah, Idaho, Kansas, Missouri, Louisiana, New Mexico, northern Nevada, northern California, Oklahoma, and Texas.

While one of the main perks of being a Whole Foods shopper and a Prime member is certainly its 10% off discount, you’ll of course be able to take advantage of other benefits. Another draw is the weekly sales which are exclusive to Prime shoppers, which encompass a variety of popular products throughout the store. You’ll find this week’s deals below:

  • Organic raspberries, $2.50 per 6 oz. container
  • Responsibly Farmed tail-on white shrimp, 2 lb. bag (31-40 ct. per lb.) for $12.99, save $5
  • Antibiotic-free rotisserie chicken, $6 each (one-day sale, May 30)
  • Back to Nature crackers and cookies, 2 for $5
  • 40 percent off all probiotic supplements (weekend sale, June 1 – June 3)
  • Plus an additional 10 percent off hundreds of sale items throughout the store

As if being a Prime members wasn’t already a great enough deal, these new widespread perks make the subscription even more beneficial. And especially since Amazon raised the cost of being a member, locking in these discounts make it easier to justify. If you happen to live in one of the 12 new states and aren’t already a Prime member, of if you are and don’t shop at Whole Foods, it might be time to reconsider what you may be missing out on.

To get started redeeming your benefits, download the Whole Foods Market app (Android or iOS) and sign into your Amazon account. Then the next time you’re at the checkout, have the cashier scan the app’s Prime Code to lock in the savings.
