Amazon intros 30-minute grocery pickup at select Whole Foods locations

In its latest move to bring the two brands closer together, Amazon has announced that it is now offering 30-minute grocery pickup at select Whole Foods locations. Starting in just two cities for now, this service made popular by other groceries will be expanding to additional regions throughout 2018. Head below for more details on this new service.

How does Whole Foods grocery pickup work?

If Whole Foods grocery pickup is available in your area, simply open the Prime Now app on iOS or Android and choose that option at checkout. Upon arriving at the grocery store, simply park in the designated spot and a “Prime Now shopper will place groceries into their car within minutes.”

How much does grocery pickup cost?

There are two grocery pickup options at Whole Foods. You can guarantee that your order will be ready in 30-minutes for $5. Otherwise, you can pickup in one hour for free.

Can I use Alexa to order groceries?

Yes, you can. In fact, for better or worse, anyone in the family can tell Alexa to add groceries to your shopping list. Simply say, “Alexa, add eggs to my Whole Foods cart.” When you’re ready to checkout and start the pickup countdown, say “Alexa, checkout my Whole Foods cart.”

After arriving at the Whole Foods Market store, customers park in a reserved pickup spot and a Prime Now shopper will place groceries into their car within minutes. For customers who tell us they are on their way in the Prime Now app, groceries will be ready as they arrive.
