This Netflix-for-books service is designed to deliver a new selection of titles to your kids every month. Its $23 price tag delivers 35% off the list price of each bundle, which includes either two hardcover books or four board books. What is Prime Book Box?
Prime Book Box is Amazon’s latest subscription-based service that delivers a selection of books to your door each month. Each title is “hand-selected” by a group of experts from a selection of different genres. Of course, you’ll need a Prime membership to subscribe.
How much does Prime Book Box cost?
Amazon is charging $22.99 per month at launch. According to the description, that’s good for up to 35% off the regular list price of each title. However, almost every book at Amazon is discounted in some way or another from the MSRP, so value may vary from month to month.
Do I get to choose my child’s books?
Yes. Well, sort of. You’ll be able to pick from a curated list of books that has already been chosen by the editors that Amazon employs. You’re also able to simply let Amazon do all of the work each month and select the titles for you.
Can I skip a month of Prime Book Box?
Yes. Amazon allows you to choose how often each set of books is delivered. There are 1, 2 or 3 month default settings with the option to skip a period at any time without penalty.
Amazon Prime Book Box is just the next step in what is sure to be additional subscription services rolling out from the online shopping magnate. Subscriptions plans can be helpful to consumers, but the real power lays in the hands of the provider. Prime Book Box seems like a solid value from a distance, but when considering that the discounts are taken from the list price, that will vary from month to month.
