As expected, CES 2019 has delivered a number of new products across just about every category. At 9to5Toys we’ve been bringing you all of the best TVs, smart home accessories, and more throughout the week. Now, it’s time to name our favorite products that have come out of Las Vegas this week.
Head below for this year’s 9to5Toys Best of CES Awards…
Best Smart Home Accessory
Ring is evolving its smart doorbell lineup at CES with the new Door View Cam. Designed for peepholes in apartments, this camera opens up smart doorbell functionality to a whole new subset of customers that were previously restricted by building codes and other rules.
Door View Cam offers 1080p HD video, a rechargeable battery, smart alerts, and easy installation. Even though the company said Apple HomeKit support would be coming to its products at some point back when Amazon acquired Ring last year, there’s no HomeKit support with the Door View Cam. Ring’s doorbells do work with Alexa and Google Assistant.
Ring is slated to retail its new Door View Cam for $200 when it ships “later this year.” It will join an already impressive and expanding lineup of smart home accessories from Amazon’s in-house brand.
Best Home Theater Device
While many know Anker for its popular smartphone accessories, they have slowly been diving into other various categories in recent years. This includes the Nebula line of home theater products, which received a new addition at CES 2019.
The Nebula Prizm II Pro is a follow-up to the more consumer-focused model centered around Android TV and offers built-in Chromecast support. There’s also HDMI and Bluetooth connectivity, in addition to Wi-Fi, that delivers popular streaming services from YouTube and Hulu. Pricing has yet to be unveiled along with any details on a ship date, but you can expect this product to drop in 2019 according to Anker.
Best Cordcutting Device
Tablo took to CES 2019 to introduce its latest cordcutting accessory. The new Tablo Quad takes on TiVo Roamio and others in the competitive cordcutting space with the ability to automatically skip commercials on record content.
Tablo sports four tuners and support for up to 8TB of external storage, making it a recording dynamo. That external hard drive spec means Tablo can handle over 160 days of HD content. Safe to say, you’re going to need that commercial skip function.
Best Bluetooth Speaker
JBL’s lineup of Bluetooth speakers is expanding even further with the new Flip 5. Continuing on with its IPX7 waterproof design, the Flip 5 includes USB-C charging, speakerphone and a 4800mAh 12-hour battery.
The JBL Flip 5 is slated to be released later this spring for $99.95. It will be available in 11 different color options at launch: Desert Sand, Mustard Yellow, Dusty Pink, Grey Stone, River Teal, Fiesta Red, Ocean Blue, Midnight Black, Steel White, Forest Green, and Squad.
