Update: Today’s State of Play showcase is about to begin!
It, for some reason, felt like we were going to have to wait until the big summer PlayStation showcase for the next State of Play-like broadcast, but we are now scheduled to get one. Just after the 2024 Days of Play sale went live with up to $100 off PS VR2 hardware, $50 off PS5 consoles, and up to 30% off PS Plus membership upgrades, not to mention loads of game deals, Sony has now taken to its official PlayStation Blog to officially announce the next State of Play Showcase. The next State of Play PlayStation showcase foes live tomorrow
Sony has yet to announce when its big-time summer show will take place, but that’s likely because it wanted to get this one out of the way first. Or at least that’s how it seems.
I certainly hope the 30 minutes of upcoming games that’s on tap for tomorrow afternoon isn’t the big summer showcase anyway. Aren’t we supposed to be getting teased with the fabled PS5 Pro at this show? Kidding, but we can only hope it’s coming soon.
It could be the big one, as last year’s did take place at the tail end of May, but it was also rebranded as the PlayStation Showcase, as opposed to State of Play, and delivered a full hour of content – you can catch up on last year’s right here.
Nonetheless, the show is set to kick off at 3 p.m. PT/6 p.m. ET with a series of live “updates on PS5 and PS VR2 titles, plus a look at PlayStation Studios games arriving later this year.”
Details are thin, as per usual, but Sony has said we are in for 30+ minutes of content featuring 14 titles and will be live streamed on its official YouTube channel and elsewhere.
State of Play returns with a 30+ minute broadcast this Thursday at 3pm PT / 11pm BST
Tune in live for updates on 14 PS5 and PS VR2 titles, including a look at PlayStation Studios titles arriving later this year.
