Reliable leaker says Metal Gear Solid Delta is a Switch 2 launch game, more details

MGS Switch 2
Nintendo-Switch-2-Metal Gear Delta

We have already detailed everything we know about the Nintendo Switch 2 launch window games. Just about everyone is expecting the new Mario Kart 9 (or whatever it might be called) to launch on day one, and potentially even as part of a console bundle. And we also spotted a retailer listing mentioning a new 3D Mario game as well as some kind of Zelda remake, but  a quite credible Switch 2 leaker with an equally as solid track record also seems to think the highly-anticipated Metal Gear remake will be one of the first game available on the new system.

Metal Gear Solid Delta a Switch 2 launch game?

I, for one, am and have always been a massive fan of the Metal Gear series. I was joyously shocked when we first got to lay eyes on the Snake Eater remake, but I certainly didn’t think there was a chance it would come to Switch, and perhaps even less so as a launch/window title.

The Metal Gear series was historically always closely tied to the PlayStation camp, but after series creator Hideo Kojima had a somewhat ugly falling out with Konami (the game’s publisher), Snake and friends have mostly been up in the air.

Since then, the MGS 3 Snake Eater remake has surfaced (Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater) and has been, for the most part more closely tied to Xbox – this is where most of the latest footage and gameplay demos have first appeared.

But now, Nate The Hate – the guy who recently leaked/predicted the official Nintendo Switch 2 reveal date (among other details) – is suggesting Metal Gear Solid Delta is coming to Switch 2, and soon.

The YouTuber actually said the Snake Eater remake, a game that still doesn’t have an official release date on any platform, is not only coming to Switch 2, but it will also be one of the first new games available on the next-gen Nintendo hardware.

Some have even suggested the release date of MGS Delta has been or will be held back to align with the Switch 2 debut.

While at one point in time it might been easy to write this highly-anticipated title off as a Switch game – that console probably can’t run it very well, it looks as through Switch 2 might have the horsepower to bring Snake’s greatest adventure into the modern era.

Obviously, and needless to say, none of this is confirmed, and might very well not be true at all. But this is coming from a source that predicted the Switch 2 reveal almost exactly. And considering Xbox boss Phil Spencer has already alluded to some more demanding Xbox titles making their way to Switch 2, it’s not entirely outside of the realm of reason to believe Snake and The Boss will be playable on Switch 2 in the early days.
