It’s that time of year and the massive annual Xbox Games Showcase has now been announced. While much of the gaming world awaits news on Switch 2 pre-orders finally go live in North America, Microsoft has taken to the official Xbox Wire to announce this year’s Xbox Games Showcase – it will once again be a double feature starting with the main event followed by a dedicated The Outer Worlds 2 Direct show. Summer Xbox Games Showcase 2025
After the beloved and sorely missed E3 shows of yesteryear were finally nixed for good, events like Summer Game Fest and dedicated publisher shows quickly took its place, and that’s exactly what Xbox is announcing here today.
The annual 2025 Xbox Games Showcase will be live-streamed on Sunday, June 8, starting at 10am Pacific / 1pm Eastern / 6pm UK time. And much like we have seen in year’s past where Microsoft followed up the main event with dedicated Direct showcases for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Starfield before that in 2023, this year’s double feature will cap off with the Outer Worlds 2 Direct.
The annual Xbox Games Showcase will be “bringing you a look at upcoming titles from across our first-party studios, in addition to incredible new titles from our third-party partners across the globe.” In 2025, “the show will be digital-only – our livestream will bring you everything you’ll need to know about what’s next for Xbox, no matter where in the world you’re watching.”
Immediately after that, “The Outer Worlds 2 Direct will bring you inside the walls of Obsidian Entertainment, revealing new gameplay, details, and developer insights, straight from the people making the sequel to the award-winning, first-person sci-fi RPG.”
The show will go live on a Sunday once again, this year on June 8 in 40 different languages and from a number of official sources:
