We have already reported on exactly when pre-orders will begin at Best Buy, Walmart, Target, and GameStop here in the U.S., but we also want to make sure our friends up north are ready to go as well. Nintendo officially delayed pre-orders in Canada to fall in-line with those in the U.S. and that is indeed what has happened as they will begin early morning on April 24 north of the border as well.
What time do Switch 2 pre-orders start in Canada?
Pre-orders for Switch 2 in the U.S. will be kicking off the second the clock strikes midnight on April 24 – and that is eastern time folks. But what time do pre-orders start for Switch 2 in Canada?
The times don’t seem to quite as locked down in the great white north as they are down here – we already know things will start in the U.S. directly at midnight ET on April 24 (you’ll probably want to be good and ready before that though) but it seems as though much of the same will be happening in Canada as well.
According to the official Walmart Canada Gaming X account, the national retailer will also be starting to take pre-orders right at 12 a.m. ET in Canada as well.
Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders arrive online only at Walmart Canada on April 24, 2025 at 12am EST.
Due to high demand, Walmart Canada is also maintaining the “limit of 1 console per household” rule it had in place before the initial delay.
As far as Best Buy Canada is concerned – another site millions of Canadians will be refreshing all day on April 24, its official Switch 2 landing page has not been updated with an exact time as of yet, but we will keep a close eye out. You can go sign up on this page, but if it’s anything like it is down here, they will likely be sold out before the notification does you any good.
