As July draws to an end and just ahead of this morning’s Nintendo Direct, let’s take a quick rundown of the biggest Switch 2 games set for release. While the (pre-recorded) livestream Partner Showcase set to go live at 6 a.m. PT/9 a.m. ET might very well deliver some news on additional third-party titles landing in for Switch 2 in August 2025, there are a decent selection of first- and third-party games that have already been locked down for the August release schedule, so let’s check them all out down below.
Nintendo Switch 2 game releases for August 2025
It has been a bit of a slow drip of new Nintendo Switch 2 experiences thus far, with not much more than some upgraded Switch 1 titles and a couple of Switch 2 exclusives. Those are two particularly banger Switch 2 exclusives with the Mario Kart World launch day release and the wonderful Donkey Kong Bananza earlier this month, and there have been some wonderful indie experiences, but it has also been relatively slow going thus far for some gamers nonetheless.
August isn’t going to add all that much more to that list, or at least not that we officially know of right now, but there are a couple first-party releases to look forward to like Kirby and the Forgotten Land + Star-Crossed World later in the month and the Drag X Drive before that, alongside a host of third-party games like the Gradius collection, Madden NFL 26, and one I personally have high-hopes for, SHINOBI: Art of Vengeance.
Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles 2 – releases August 5th
GRADIUS ORIGINS – releases August 7th
EA SPORTS Madden NFL 26 – releases August 14th
Drag x Drive – releases August 14th
STORY OF SEASONS: Grand Bazaar – releases August 27th
Kirby and the Forgotten Land – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Star-Crossed World – releases August 28th
SHINOBI: Art of Vengeance – releases August 29th
