Nintendo’s Indie World showcase went live this morning with short but (mostly) sweet look at some interesting new indie titles coming to Switch and Switch 2 this year and next. But some of the games on display in today’s live stream actually released today, and one of the titles I’m personally most excited about actually dropped a FREE demo ahead of launch this fall.
New Switch 1 and 2 games you can play today
Today’s show certainly did not show off the game everyone wanted to see and knew we wouldn’t. However there were some interesting games on display alongside some sweet new titles to keep you busy until the first proper Nintendo Direct of the Switch 2 era goes live with the big-time first-party games – will we see a new Nintendo showcase goes live for a third week in a row next week? Probably not, but we can hope.
Nonetheless, there are some new games up for grabs on the eShop today and here’s a look at all of them, starting with a game that was only shown off in the Japanese edition of today’s Nintendo Direct showcase:
BOKURA: planet $5.50
BOKURA: planet is a puzzle adventure game that must be played with two players, who communicate and work together to solve puzzles. It takes place in a different setting than BOKURA and has a whole new story, with different actions and gimmicks.
Is This Seat Taken? $25
Window seat or aisle? Booth or table? Lone wolf or life of the party? In Is This Seat Taken?, your mission is to organize groups of people according to their preferences. It’s a cozy, no-pressure logic puzzle game where you’re in charge of who sits where.
Whether it’s the cinema, a crowded bus, a wedding reception, or a cramped taxi cab, every setting introduces new characters with specific tastes. A party guest with a sensitive nose won’t be happy sitting next to a stranger who’s wearing too much cologne. A sleepy passenger won’t be happy trying to nap on the bus next to someone listening to loud music. It’s all about reading the room to find the perfect placement!

Leave everything behind and open a tiny bookshop by the sea in this cozy narrative management game.
Stock your Tiny Bookshop with different books and items, set up shop in scenic locations, and run your cozy second-hand bookshop while getting to know the locals.
Decorate your Tiny Bookshop with the items you collect. Are you into absolutely plastering it with plants? Maybe a spooky candle-lit atmosphere is more your style? Every item also has an effect on your customers and can introduce new mechanics.
UFO 50 $25
Explore a collection of 50 single and multiplayer games that span a variety of genres, from platformers and shoot ’em ups to puzzle games, roguelites, and RPGs! As you journey through the library, make connections and learn more about UFO Soft, the fictional 80s company behind the games, as well as their expansive shared universe that includes sequels and recurring characters.
