Nintendo just officially revealed the new purple/light green Switch 2 Joy-Con

A new year has arrived and a new set of official Joy-Con for your Switch 2 have as well. This morning, in the official Nintendo Today! app, Nintendo has given us our first look at a set of new Switch 2 Joy-Con with the purple/light green treatment.

Nintendo announces new Switch 2 Joy-Con colors

Up until today, the only Joy-Con available for Switch were the two that came on your system with the traditional light blue/light red paint job. You can also buy the Nintendo Joy-Con 2 separately at $99 if you need a second set, but the first new Switch 2 Joy-Con colorway has been announced ahead of launch next month.

This morning on the Nintendo Today! app, Nintendo announced the new Nintendo Joy-Con 2 purple/light green set. This marks the first new color treatment on the official Switch 2 controllers since release last summer.

They are, presumably, identical to the set you already have outside of the paint job – there are no additional details in the announcement at the time of writing, but that is probably a safe assumption.

The new Nintendo Joy-Con 2 purple/light green set will be available starting on February 12, 2026.
