Nintendo releases Xenoblade Chronicles X Switch 2 Edition today with 60fps, 4K visuals, more

Nintendo just revealed the Xenoblade Chronicles X Switch 2 Edition launch trailer on its official YouTube channel and via the Nintendo Today! app. The digital version of the game is available today.

Xenoblade Chronicles X Switch 2 Edition

Players will soon be able to join “BLADE to explore the planet Mira and help bring humanity back from the edge of extinction” with the new Switch 2 Edition of the game.

This is indeed the Definitive Edition that was already available on Switch, but now with some upgrades – “faster frame rate (up to 60 fps) and enhanced resolution (up to 4K)” – and one serious mouthful of a title: The Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition — Nintendo Switch 2 Edition.

Here’s the announcement trailer

There will be a $4.99 upgrade pack for players who already own Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition on Nintendo Switch via the eShop.

However, for those who don’t, Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition — Nintendo Switch 2 Edition is now available on the Nintendo eShop (or will monetarily, the page isn’t loading just yet at the time of writing). A physicalversion will also be available for purchase, but not until April 16, 2026.
