As promised, Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen are now live on the Nintendo eShop following the presentation. Both titles include the Sevii Islands, “where even more Pokémon await.” The listings also confirm support for the Pokémon Wireless Club, letting players trade, battle, and chat locally.

Pokémon Red and Pokémon Green, as you probably already know, are the very first entries in the series that launched in Japan on February 27, 1996, marking the beginning of what would become a global phenomenon today. Fans of the franchise now celebrate this date each year as Pokémon Day.
These classics were reintroduced on the Game Boy Advance years later in 2004 as remakes of Pokémon Red and Blue (Green in Japan). According to The Pokémon Company, players can relive the original adventure and iconic Pokémon, now refreshed with the enhanced visuals and updates from the Advance-era versions. The Switch versions now available at eShop largely stick to the Game Boy Advance versions, with the only notable addition being the Game Chat feature for Nintendo Switch 2 users. You won’t need a Nintendo Switch Online subscription to buy or play them.
