Nintendo officially announces release date for new Yoshi and the Mysterious Book Switch 2 game

While it might not exactly be a new Mario game, Yoshi and the Mysterious Book was reaveled as part of the initial Mario 40th anniversary and we are getting a new gameplay overview trailer today alongside the official release date.

Nintendo has just debuted a new video and overview trailer for Yoshi and theMysterious Book on the Nintendo Today! app for Mario Day 2026. 

We now know the Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive will be launching on May 21, 2026 – we previously only had a general spring 2026 release window before today. 

As of right now the new video is only live on the Nintendo app, but we will update this post as soon as it is available elsewhere – Nintendo doesn’t like when you pull content from its app.

Accumulate stars as you make discoveries, and more and more Chapters will be available to explore!
