Nintendo just officially revealed new limited-time Super Mario Galaxy Switch 2 console bundle offer

Nintendo has now officially announced a new Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 Nintendo Switch 2 console bundle. I guess not everything it had planned to announce this year already leaked (but a whole bunch of it seems like it has).

Likely in celebration of the theatrical release of The Super Mario Galaxy movie, Nintendo has now issued an official press release to announce a limited-time run on a new Nintendo Switch 2 and Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 console bundle.

Starting on April 12, “select retailers” will be offering a new  Nintendo Switch 2 package bundled with Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2. Nintendo says this bundle will be available until May 9, 2026.

But don’t get too excited here, this is just the usual Switch 2 console with a bundled copy of Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2. Gamers will be able to “purchase Nintendo Switch 2 at the same time as the physical or digital version of these galactic adventures and save $20 at participating retailers” including Amazon, Best Buy, Target, GameStop, and Walmart.

A video game console and a box

As a quick reminder, there is no official Switch 2 edition of Mario’s galactic re-release, but “players can download a free update to launch right into Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 on Nintendo Switch 2 — the next evolution of the Nintendo Switch system, packed with upgrades and fun ways to connect and play together. Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 contains two star-hopping adventures featuring enhanced resolution, improved UI, extra Storybook Chapters, a new Assist Mode and more.”

All thing considered, I guess it is nice to see “deals” on any gaming hardware at this point. We have seen discounts on this game a whole bunch of times now – you can land a copy on Woot right now at $15 off – but it does not often go for much less than that.
