In case you somehow missed it, there has been a massive leak over at Nintendo. Somebody is stealing all of the Mushroom Kingdom’s biggest secrets and leaking them all over the internet. As exciting as some of this leaked information is, I almost hope it’s all fake and Nintendo completely surprises everyone over the next few months.
That, however, is looking more and more unlikely at this point as several sources have now, at least to some degree, corroborated the early information regarding Nintendo’s 2026 (and even 2027) launch plans. While there’s really no way to know with 100% certainty all of this is indeed going to happen, it looks as though Nintendo won’t have any major surprises for gamers this year if does.
Rumors from reliable leakers suggests there will be no 3D Mario game until 2027 and there won’t even be a major Nintendo Direct until this summer. But at this point we don’t even really need one because it appears as though all of the biggest upcoming releases have already leaked.
I, for one, am a little bit skeptical of some of these, but if there really isn’t going to be a new Mario game this year, a ton of this stuff might actually be true, especially considering the pedigree of the folks spewing it all over the webs.
That Switch Game Cube leak from earlier this year that suggesting Metroid Prime 2 and Pikmin 2 were coming at some point appears to have been a mistake from Nintendo’s art department, but I wouldn’t completely rule it out just yet.
However, the Ocarina of Time Remake and the rumored special edition Switch 2 that will release before it seem quite likely at this point considering how many folks seem to head heard something like this and the fact that it is the anniversary year of Nintendo’s Hylian adventure series.
That, and the rumored release of a new Star Fox game this summer, seem to be the biggest and most believable of the leaks at this point, but there’s a whole lot more than that on table right now:

- Upcoming The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time Remake for Switch 2
- Upcoming Zelda Ocarina of Time Remake Switch 2 special edition console

- Rhythm Heaven: Groove will release in the coming months
- Fire Emblem: Fortune Weave will release in the coming months
- Pikmin 4 Switch 2 Edition will release in the coming months
- Xenoblade 2 Switch 2 Edition will release in the coming months
- There will be no new 3D Mario game releasing until 2027
- Hell Is Us for Switch 2
- Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival for Switch 2
- Switch Sports for Switch 2
- Devil May Cry 5 for Switch 2
- Duskbloods release window
- New Wario Land game scheduled for 2027
- Super Metroid remake for Switch 2
