One of the most notable changes to the Xbox ecosystem since the new CEO stepped in is a price cut for both Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, which takes effect today. The new pricing has Game Pass Ultimate dropping from $29.99 to $22.99 per month, while PC Game Pass falls to $13.99, down from $16.49. The rest of the Game Pass lineup isn’t seeing any adjustments, so those tiers remain at the same rates introduced after Microsoft’s price increase last October. Head below for more details.
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate price cut takes effect today
A notable change to keep in mind here, though, is that the future Call of Duty titles will not be a part of the Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass at launch. This may not necessarily be a deal-breaker for many, but it’ll definitely raise some eyebrows considering these games have been a part of the subscription for a while now.
New Call of Duty games will be added to Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass during the following holiday season (about a year later), while existing Call of Duty titles already in the library will continue to be available.
This move comes shortly after the new Xbox CEO acknowledged that Game Pass had started to feel too expensive for many players. It’ll be interesting to see how gamers respond to the lower pricing, particularly those who regularly jump into newer Call of Duty titles through their subscriptions. That said, the rest of the Game Pass lineup isn’t changing. Notably, you’ll still get access to Xbox Cloud Gaming with the Game Pass Ultimate, Premium, and Essential tiers, just as before.
