GTA 6 pre-orders are set to start today, according to Best Buy. We are yet to get official word from Rockstar, according to one of the country’s biggest retailers, the latest entry for one of the biggest games of the last decade will go up for pre-order today ahead of the scheduled fall release date – but we will believe it when we see it.
Grand Theft Auto 6 pre-orders set to go live today
Updates:
Walmart’s Grand Theft Auto 6 page appears to be up now, but still pointing to a “This page couldn’t be found” message.
While, in many cases, most games go up for pre-order at the same time they are announced, or shortly thereafter, Grand Theft Auto 6 is an exception here, because, well…it’s Grand Theft Auto 6.
- Grand Theft Auto VI pre-order (Price TBA)
The follow-up to one to one of the biggest and arguably best games ever released has been a long time in the making, as it should be considering how much bank Rockstar and its parent company still rake in from GTA V/GTA Online, and considering how long it actually takes to make a behemoth open-world experience like this.
Anticipation is almost as high as expectation here, and Rockstar is under some serious pressure to deliver, not only, again, because we are talking about the next-generation Grand Theft Auto title, but also with the rumors surrounding a potential premium price tag it might launch with – numbers like $80, $90, and even $100 or more have been thrown around.
Nonetheless, Best Buy seems to think Grand Theft Auto VI pre-orders are set to go live today according to an email blast 9to5Toys received last week. Folks all over the net, both those in the know and not so much, also seem to think a new, third GTA 6 trailer will also arrive alongside pre-orders going live, but as of the time of writing Rockstar has remained quiet about this supposed “leak” and some industry insiders are suggesting there will be no news until July or August at this point. One can only assume that if Best Buy is “right,” and pre-orders are set to go live for GTA VI today, it would stand to reason that Rockstar would have a new trailer in the holster as well, but as of the time of writing we have seen/heard nothing yet.
The Best Buy email in question did not mention a start time, so your guess is as good as anyone’s, if it is indeed going up for pre-order today at all. Best Buy tends to update its site with new deals and offers at 1 a.m. ET, so it’s either going live any minute or as soon as Rockstar tells them to push the button later this morning.
We will be updating this post and our social feeds the second the game goes up (or not).
When do GTA 6 pre-orders start?
There has been no official word from Rockstar yet, but Best Buy has sent out an email blast saying they will go live on May 18, 2026.
What time do GTA VI pre-orders start today?
Grand Theft Auto 6 pre-orders will go live today, according to Best Buy, but we do not know what time exactly or if it will at all. It could be as early as midnight, or at 1 a.m. ET when Best Buy updates its site, but it could also be later in the morning/day once Rockstar makes an announcement.
When does GTA VI release?
Grand Theft Auto VI is set for release this fall on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, 2026.
How much will GTA 6 cost?
This is perhaps one of the biggest questions floating around right now surrounding the game, and the industry overall. Rockstar has hinted that it might release at a premium, and if any game was going to it would probably be one of the most anticipated titles in recent memory. Some folks have suggested something close to $100 or more, but something’s telling me Rockstar is just going to drop it at $80 and call it the massive win it was going to be anyway. But we also wouldn’t be surprised if it was even more than that.
