Switch 2 with one ‘FREE’ top-tier game is the best Nintendo deal we will see all year

Remember the days when we used to get some seriously great deals on gaming consoles for holiday events and Black Friday? No? Well, I’m old enough to remember those days, and realistic enough to know they are long gone, at least for now. And that’s why you might want to take Nintendo’s new Switch 2 Choose Your Game bundle offer more seriously.

If you or anyone you know is still looking to score a Switch 2 console, or might want to at some point in 2026 and beyond, the new Nintendo Switch 2: Choose Your Game Bundle is now available for purchase and is still in-stock.

With prices going nowhere but up on console gaming hardware, and just after Nintendo officially announced an imminent upcoming price hike on Switch 2, what might have seemed like a couple of free loose gold coins just to boost console sales for the Nintendo has become a game-changing power-up

I don’t think anyone expects to see console deals like we used to this year, much like they didn’t last year, and much like they probably don’t next year. Be it the economy, or memory shortages, or tariffs, or whatever the blame belongs to, seeing any sort of price drop on Switch 2 is almost unthinkable at this point.

I guess, like we have seen elsewhere in the consumer tech product segment, there is a small chance we might see a price hike hit just before holiday offers bring the price down closer to what it was, but even that seems unlikely at this point.

And with all of that said, these sorts of console bundles with the packed in games you’re going to have to buy separately anyway are literally the best deals we are going to get.

Last year we saw Sony offer up a popular Astro Bot console bundle that sold like gangbusters for this very reason, and the Choose Your Game Switch 2 bundle might be an even better value to some.

Not only is Switch 2 a hotter commodity still, but the game options here are arguably far better too. This is not some old title that adds very little value for most folks just to make it seem like a deal, this is three of the hottest Switch 2 titles you can buy, and arguably three of the best console games that have released over the last year or so.

As we have detailed previously, the Nintendo Switch 2: Choose Your Game Bundle costs $499.99 shipped and comes with your choice of Mario Kart WorldDonkey Kong Bananza, or Pokémon Pokopia as a digital game download.

  • Nintendo Switch 2: Choose Your Game Bundle $500
    • Up to $530 value now, up to $580 value after upcoming price hike

That’s a total value of $570 or $580, depending on the game you choose, and a savings of $20 or $30 over buying the console and the game separately (at the moment).

But considering, this console is going to cost $500 on its own soon, one might argue you’re actually looking at $70 or $80 in savings here. And the chances we see Switch 2 go on sale with a straight up cash discount that good anytime soon are extremely low – and by anytime soon I mean quite possibly for a year or much more.

Anything is of course possible, but unless you’re willing to wait a whole lot longer than most people looking to score a Switch 2 this year will want, the Nintendo Switch 2: Choose Your Game Bundle is the hottest thing the Mushroom Kingdom might see until Mario get all those gold coins he lost paying tariffs at launch last year.
