Journey is back at it again today with its latest new MagSafe charging station, and a nice pre-order deal to boot. The NOVA 3-in-1 Fast Wireless Charging Station is making its worldwide debut today to offer up the same old 3-in-1 charging action, but in a fresh new form-factor with a nice wood grain option. The official Made for Apple Watch nod of approval lands alongside the Qi2 15W action as well as a 20% launch deal you can secure ahead of its October 28 release date. Last we heard from the brand it was debuting its brand new full-grain leather URBAN Apple Watch band just after launching the “world’s first” 10K mAh 4-in-1 MagSafe power bank with a retractable charging lid, but today it is turning its attention back to the desktop (or elsewhere in the home) with the new NOVA 3-in-1 Fast Wireless Charging Station.
As mentioned above, you’re looking at a 3-in-1 charging stand here with a 15W Qi2 main MagSafe pad for iPhone alongside a 5W Made for Apple Watch magnetic charger around back to house your Cupertino wearable. Tucked underneath, a nice little cubby-like compartment houses a 5W Qi pad for your AirPods.
Okay nice, we are looking what are basically the highest industry standard charging rates across the board, but it’s really all about the design here.
This thing eschews the usual tree-like form-factor for something with more of a home decor-like vibe, offering up two distinct options; one with a wood grain accent and the other with a minimalist light gray option pressed up against the Apple-white frame.
And it very much doesn’t stop there. Perhaps a first, or at least the first I have seen, for the MagSafe charger game, the new Journey NOVA 3-in-1 Fast Wireless Charging Station features a “touch-on” interior light that illuminates the hollow, or cubby, housing the AirPods charger. This is arguably a totally novel and gimmicky feature, but I definitely like the look of it, and it presents as an elevated touch of design and something that might actually be useful, especially in low light conditions or when waking up early ahead of your partner next to you.
The hollow-body design is visually striking but also practical. It’s integral to the NOVA’s minimalist vertical architecture. The vertical build of the charger minimizes desk foot print, and promotes gentle environmental ambience in your living and working spaces.
