Alongside the reveal of the new Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza Switch 2 exclusives, not to mention the official price and release date of the console, we also got details on the new GameChat feature and new Switch 2 accessories. Nintendo has now updated its official Switch 2 site with additional details on each of them as well as the official price.
Nintendo Switch 2 Camera
We now know that mysterious “C” button is in support of the new GameChat feature on Switch 2 and the Switch 2 Camera accessory. A new trailer for GameChat is releasing tomorrow, April 3rd, at 6 a.m. PT.
Share your game screen while chatting to show what you’re up to. And for a more personal touch, connect face-to-face with the Nintendo Switch 2 camera or other compatible USB-C camera (each sold separately).
We also know the new Nintendo Switch 2 Camera carries a $49.99 list price and does not come bundled with either of the console packages coming to retail for preorder next week.

Nintendo says that “whether in TV mode, tabletop mode, or handheld mode,” the camera will allow gamers to video chat with friends or “use other in-game camera features by plugging this camera into the USB-C port on top of the system.”
Its compact size makes the camera easy to move and place where you need it to be. The wide-angle lens can be freely adjusted to get everyone in on the action, no matter the room size. Plus, a high-sensitivity image sensor can adjust the brightness automatically to detect faces.
When you’re not using the camera, you can cover the lens with the built-in privacy shutter.

Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller
Next up is the new Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller. Folks mostly loved the previous model and there’s a new one in town for Switch 2 – this time with a 3.5mm headphone jack, the new “C” button, and GL/GR Buttons “that you can freely map to any button you choose.” Sadly there is no mention of Hall effect tech here:
- HD rumble 2
- Motion controls
- Built-in amiibo functionality
- Capture Button
- C Button for GameChat
- GL/GR buttons that you can map to any button you choose.
- Audio jack – 4 pole stereo 3.5mm mini plug (CTIA standard)
The new Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller carries $79.99 MSRP and comes with a USB-C charging cable.
