Nintendo hosted its first Partner Showcase Direct this morning with a series of updates and announcements. While we now have official confirmation of a host of Bethesda tiles landing on Switch 2 after around a year of speculation – Fallout 4, Elder Scrolls Oblivion, and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, included – it also quickly reminded folks about the Hollow Knight – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition upgrade pack.
FREE Hollow Knight – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition upgrade now live
After years of waiting for Silksong, it finally released near the end of last year, and it is fantastic. Shortly thereafter developer Team Cherry teased us all with an upcoming expansion for the game and, while we are still awaiting more details on that, it also announced the Hollow Knight – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition.
At the time we simply knew the Hollow Knight – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition was inbound sometime in 2026 and that there would also be an upgrade path for folks who own the original on Switch.
Well, that day has arrived and the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition is now live on the eShop.
If you don’t already own the game, you can score the Switch 2 edition for $15, but if you do, the eShop also has the Hollow Knight – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition upgrade pack available right now for FREE.
Hollow Knight Nintendo Switch 2 Edition incorporates all the updates and enhancements that Silksong received on the platform: High frame-rate modes, higher resolutions, and many additional graphical effects.
As with Silksong, players who own a copy of Hollow Knight on Nintendo Switch will be able to download the new Nintendo Switch 2 Edition for free when it launches in 2026!
