Nintendo reveals new Pictonico! game, launches on iOS and Android next week

While some of the big Switch 2 game leaks have now come true, there are still some major rumors still up in the air. One Nintendo game that did not leak ahead of time is the quirky new Pictonico! that was just revealed and is now set for release next week.

Nintendo set to launch new Pictonico! on iOS and Android

No, it’s not the rumored Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake, not by a long shot. But Nintendo is set to release a new game next week in the form of this odd little mobile experience for Android and iOS known as Pictonico!.

Pictonico! looks to be a sort of collection of over 80 mini games that reminds me, at least to some degree, like some of the WarioWare experiences. Except this one is tied to your phone’s camera roll, allowing gamers to inject photos of themselves and friends right into the action.

Here’s a quick rundown from Nintendo:

  • Here come your school’s sports stars…strutting down the red carpet!
  • Your boss is hungry and needs your help!
  • Try to wash away those embarrassing high-school memories.
  • Son won’t quiet down? Zip his mouth!
  • Two old friends reconnect while skydiving!
  • Grandpa dressed like a ballerina? Can’t miss this photo op.
  • Mom’s angry… But that nose hair must be plucked!
  • Dad’s making that face again. Wait, is that a facial mask?
  • Best friend turned final boss?! Evasive maneuvers!
  • That calm, collected teacher was all muscle this whole time?

Nintendo’s new Pictonico! is a free to start experience, but to unlocked the full set of games it will cost you $5.99 for Volume 1 and $7.99 for Volume 2.

*This game is free-to-start.

*Purchase of a game volume is required for gameplay, but you can play a demo of some minigames for free.

*A constant online connection is not required, but temporary network access may be needed for the following operations, which may incur data charges:
・First launch
・Purchasing game volumes

*Your photos are not sent to Nintendo.
