Pre-orders are now live and flying for the highly-anticipated Grand Theft Auto VI. The game, as I’m sure you all know by know, is only launching on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with a PC presumably in the works for a future release (as per usual with Rockstar), but a new leak suggests the rumored Switch 2 version is inbound too.
- Grand Theft Auto 6 pre-orders are now live at Amazon on PS5 and Xbox.
- Grand Theft Auto 6 pre-orders are now live at Walmart on PS5 and Xbox.
- Grand Theft Auto 6 pre-orders are now live at GameStop on PS5 or Xbox.
There have, naturally, been rumors of a Switch 2 version of Grand Theft Auto 6 for quite some time. I think with the machine being far more powerful than its predecessor there were bound to be rumors of a GTA VI release on Nintendo’s platform, some less reliable than others, but a new leak from a relatively reliable source seems to suggest it is in the works and progressing nicely.
We cannot corroborate these claims, but industry insider Nash Weedle, who does have a relatively notable track record for these sorts of things, claims the Switch 2 edition of GTA VI is in the works and advancements have been made on some of the technical hurdles associated with getting this behemoth of an open-world masterpiece running on Switch 2.
Machine translated from Spanish, Nash Weedle claims “technical hurdles have been overcome” bringing the game to Switch 2 and specialists on the matter have been brought in to help with the porting process (we presume this is how this information leaked, if it is indeed true, but we cannot confirm as much). Weedle also claims the Switch 2 game won’t arrive this year, and that other insiders have also “received information from their sources about this port.”
This information follows a less than interesting leak regarding some gameplay details on GTA VI courtesy of Amazon Brazil.
