Okay, this is it folks, the price of Nintendo Switch 2 is going up in less than 48 hours – if you’re looking to score one you better do it now before that happens.
Consider this a PSA and a reminder. Months ago, Nintendo officially announced a price hike coming to Switch 2 systems. That price increase goes into effect on September 1 – just under 2 days from now.
If you’re looking to land a console still, it might be a good idea to do it now. While we are still months away from Christmas, if you might want one under the tree for the kids or something like that, now might very well be the very best time to do it.
- Nintendo Switch 2 $449
- Nintendo Switch 2 (Grade A Refurb) $400
- Up to $450 value now, $500 value after the price hike
There’s no telling what “deals” could look like between now and then, but consoles have largely been impervious to discounts during Black Friday as of late, and especially right after a price increase. Loads of tech has been going up in price lately, and even when we see deals on this stuff after the fact, it largely just brings it back to the old MSRP. However, deals on consoles are rare these days, and even that might be a stretch for Nintendo Switch 2.
We know the base Nintendo Switch 2 system is going up $50 on September 1, and, while Nintendo didn’t specifically state what raised bundle prices will look like at the time, we now know for sure from the recent announcement of two upcoming packages – the Mario Kart World and Switch Sports Resort bundles.
Nintendo Switch 2 pricing starting September 1:
- Nintendo Switch 2 $449 (Going up to $500)
- Nintendo Switch 2 + Nintendo Switch Sports Resort Bundle $530 (Releases October 22)
- Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World $550 (Releases late September)
As you can see above, Switch 2 with one game was once $500, but it will soon be at least $30 more. You can buy a Switch 2 system and Nintendo Switch Sports Resort right now for $500, or the console and Mario Kart World for $529.
