After a bit of a wait, IGN has now announced OTTTD as July’s Free Game of the Month. Available on iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, free promotional codes are available now. Regularly priced at $4.99, the game has dropped to $2.99 on the App Store previously, but this marks this first time we have seen the iOS version go free.
OTTTD (or Over The Top Tower Defense) is not your average tower defense game. It blends elements of real time strategy games, tower defense and giant, flying, undead sharks. While described as “anything-goes TD game that doesn’t take itself seriously,” there is an intense and tactical blend of RD and RTS gameplay at its core.
With additional game modes on the way, there are already 20 story missions, a unique and meaningful tempa-death system and boss battles, as well as a character class and leveling system. You can check out some screenshots and the gameplay trailer below.

Amazon is offering the Canon PIXMA Printing Solutions Wireless Inkjet All-In-One Printer (MG7120) for $99 shipped. That’s $100 or 50% off the regular asking price, matching our previous mention and the lowest we’ve ever seen this highly rated printer go for. Today’s deal is available in both the black and white models and marks the only other time we’ve seen these particular printers discounted outside of a one day Amazon sale early last month.
This cloud enabled all-in-one features AirPrint, a 9600 x 2400 dpi photo resolution and more:
The Canon PIXMA Printing Solutions Wireless Inkjet All-In-One Printer (MG7120) has received a 4/5 star rating from over 270 customers. Today’s deal is not to be confused with the MG5520 model, which has a smaller display, less functionality and a lower photo printing resolution.

Update (7/6 7:30am): This promotion is now live via Target online and Target stores.

According to a leaked ad scan that has shown up on several online forums and blogs, starting this Sunday July 6th, Target will offer free $100 gift cards with the purchase of an iPad Air or iPad with Retina display. The ad only mentions 16GB capacities of both models, but also states “other Wi-Fi models available” for iPad Air, so this discount may apply to more configurations beyond 16GB. We won’t know for sure until the deal page goes live later this weekend.

As one of its daily deals, Staples offers the uNu DX iPhone 5/5s 2300mAh MFi Protective Battery Case in white for $49.99 with free shipping. That matches our best price ever for this highly rated iPhone accessory.
It features a 2300mAh built-in battery (equals an additional 10 hours talk time) and lip to keep your phone safe. Wirecutter thinks it’s one of the best available iPhone 5 battery cases on the planet, in fact the second best behind only the Lenmar Meridian — mostly due to it being a slightly slower charge and usually more expensive.
“Quite frankly, it comes down to price: We consistently find the Meridian for $5-$10 cheaper than the uNu. But if that changes, and you don’t mind the slightly slower charging speed of the uNu, you’ll do just fine picking the DX up instead,” said Wirecutter.
If you don’t mind waiting for shipping, you can still find the red, black and gold option for $50 on Groupon as well.

It has a rigid backing and raised-lip edge that offers “premium protection from scratches, fingerprints, smudging and bumps” and you can easily access all functions without removing the case including charging and syncing.
It has received a 4.4/5 star rating from over 140 Amazon customers, is MFi certified by Apple and comes with a one-year warranty from uNu. If you’re looking for a little more juice but aren’t interested in the charging pad, the highly rated uNu Power DX External Protective Battery Case for iPhone 5s / iPhone 5 is still $50 shipped, matching the best price we’ve seen.

While matching the lowest price on the red and white version, this is the lowest we’ve seen the gold version ship for which is currently listed at $80 on Amazon.
It packs in a 2300mAh battery (comes out to around an additional 10 hours of talk time), and a bonus screen protector to keep your phone safe as well as charged. Wirecutter thinks it’s one of the best available iPhone 5 battery cases out there, second to only the Lenmar Meridian — and mostly due to it being a slightly longer charge time and usually more expensive.
The uNu Power DX External Protective Battery Case for iPhone 5s / iPhone 5 has received a 4./5 star rating among over 600 Amazon customers. You can find more discounted cases and accessories for your iPhone in today’s Daily Deals round up.
