Breeze breathalyzer tracks your drinking in HealthKit and connects you w/ Uber when you get too drunk

Breathometer’s first smartphone breathalyzer was launched thanks to a successful Indiegogo campaign that raised $138,377 or 554% of its original goal. A little over a year later, Breathometer has introduced its latest breathalyzer, which it calls Breeze. It isn’t just a toy for college kids to see who can get more drunk, it’s a powerful tool that can help you drink responsibly…

The original Breathometer had to be connected through the audio jack of a smartphone and was a bit clunky. Equipped with a handy clip, Breeze was designed to be so simple to carry that users won’t mind lugging it out to a bar, wedding, concert or any other event. There’s no need to fumble around trying to plug it in since it connects over Bluetooth.

Its smart capabilities don’t stop there. The iOS and Android app can find you a place to stay, get you a ride home from Uber, or even track down the closest restaurant so you can tame your drunken stupor. Breeze even integrates with iOS 8’s HealthKit so you can have a clear picture of your drinking habits. Most importantly, Breathometer hopes its new gadget will help “users to keep track of their alcohol consumption, which assists casual, social drinkers to make more informed decisions regarding their health and wellness.”

Breeze is available now at BestBuy.com and Breathometer.com for $99.99. The original Breathometer is still available for purchase at half the price.
