The movE cargo eBike can haul 400-pounds worth of gear, priced from $1,799

As electric bikes and alternative transportation grow in popularity, we’re beginning to see more variation within the category as new releases pop up each week. The latest of which is the new movE electric cargo bike. Recently launched on Kickstarter, this three-wheel take on e-transportation offers the most storage that we’ve seen in this category along with a whole host of smartphone-connected features.

The movE cargo eBike took over seven years worth of product development before it landed on Kickstarter this month. London-based designer Sanitov Studios is behind the product which has already raised 66% of its initial fundraising goal. One of the main reasons that movE is so attractive to potential customers is its mix of capabilities and integrated technology.

At the heart of movE is a 250W motor that is powered by a 36V / 15.6Ah battery. It’s capable of providing speeds upwards of 15mph with a total range over 30-miles. But what truly makes this eBike standout is its impressive ability to haul cargo. The rear storage area can handle up to 440-pounds of weight, and still maintain many of the specs mentioned above.

We guarantee that the movE will give you freedom and flexibility whilst providing an enjoyable and efficient mode of travel. By pledging for a bike you are supporting a colourful and sustainable movement whilst being rewarded with a highly discounted bike. Your pledge will allow us to take our movE cargo bike to the market and consequently reduce carbon emissions and create a better future for all.

Inside the storage area is a combination bench and lockbox that can be used as a seat for other riders, although I’m not certain you’d find me in the back of this cart. The locked storage area is a nice touch if you’re running multiple errands and want to leave something safely hidden while in the store. Speaking of which, the integrated GPS tracker (and companion app) offers real-time location tracking in the event your ride were to walk off.

Overall, movE comes in at 121-pounds, which is on the hefty side when comparing to most two-wheeled bikes. But potential customers would be wise to remember all of the features and storage room that accompanies this product. We’ve seen similar offerings in the past but those lacked similarly impressive cargo space.

With 24 days remaining in its Kickstarter campaign, movE has raised over $20,000, well on its way to meeting an initial goal of $30,000. Prices start at $1,799 for Super Early Birds with additional options going up to $3,700 depending on features and design. If all goes to plan, movE will begin shipping to backers in December.
