LEGO is bringing back its tribute sets with an upcoming gift with purchase that turns Galileo into a new minifigure. The upcoming LEGO promotional set 40595 will be launching later this fall and includes over 300 pieces to go alongside that exclusive new minifig of the famed astronomer, physicist, and engineer.

While we already know what to expect from the final few LEGO sets of the year, that doesn’t mean there aren’t some new builds to look forward to before the end of 2023. The holiday season will have quite a few new gift with purchase sets revealed, with the smaller builds looking to entice LEGO fans to ditch shopping at Amazon and other third-party retailers in favor of the official LEGO Shop.
The latest of these is the new Tribute to Galileo Galilei. The upcoming promotional build arrives as LEGO set number 40595 and will be launching later this fall. Today we’re getting a first look, with some official photos now available.
It stacks up to 307 pieces and will be assembling a small portion of the 16th century inventor. One side has a bookshelf, while the other features a window with a telescope pointing up towards the sky. Directly in the back is a framed picture of the Leaning Tower of Piza, too.
Front and center for the build is a desk where Galileo himself will sit. It’s filled with all kinds of gadgets, including a miniature brick-built orrery, a mariner’s astrolabe compass, and more. There’s also a black base sitting below the build that comes adorned with a name plate for Galileo Galilei.
The new LEGO Galileo Galilei GWP is just the latest of these promotional Tribute series sets. It has been a while since we’ve seen one, but back in the beginning of 2022 there was a build that looked to immortalize Jane Goodall in minifigure form. It was also preceded by an Amelia Earhart Tribute set from back in 2021.
Similarly to those previously-released Gift with Purchase builds and promotional kits, there is going to be a minimum amount of money you have to spend on sets in order to score LEGO set number 40595. We don’t know exactly how much that will be yet, but $120 seems like a likely amount.
Will you be going out of your way to bring home the upcoming Gift with Purchase? Let us know in the comments below or over in our poll. As enticing as a new LEGO Galileo Galilei minifigure is, we’ll be excited to see how many of our readers end up bringing home the set later this fall.
