Okay folks, here we go, it’s time to kick off this year’s major summer gaming showcases with Summer Game Fest, as promised. Summer Game Fest, and especially today’s main event, has quickly become one of the more exciting shows of the season, combining titles across all major platforms from a giant collection of publishers and developers – 55 of them in fact. This is clearly not going to be some small-time show, despite organizer and host Geoff Keighley suggesting it was a lighter year. Either way, we are in for two straight hours of reveals, trailers, announcements, gameplay footage, and, probably, some Hideo Kojima. Head below for more details and to follow along with tonight’s Summer Game Fest show (it kicks off at 2 p.m. PT/5 p.m. ET).
Summer Game Fest 2024 has arrived
Mr. Keighley has promised “updates from the world’s top game development studios” as well as announcements from smaller indie operations and more. And if last year’s event is any indication, this is indeed what we will be getting along with some updates on already announced titles and Nicolas Cage, maybe.
Here are some of the tiles confirmed to be making an appearance at this year’s show: Monster Hunter Wilds – a game we just got the first gameplay trailer for, something from the Alan Wake 2 dev team, Dune: Awakening, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, and Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero. Everyone knows how tight Geoff and Hideo Kojima are, so it’s hard to imagine us not getting some Death Stranding 2, OD, or whatever else Kojima is working on.
Some of the major publishers announced to be present include PlayStation, Xbox, Ubisoft, 2K, Capcom. EA, Epic Gamers, Annapurna Interactive, Blumhouse Games, and a whole lot more.
The show is set to kick off at 2 p.m. PT/5 p.m. ET (it looks like there will be a 30 minute pre-game show here os some sort) and you can watch along with us below:
