This morning Nintendo made a not so surprising announcement of official price hikes landing on previous generation Switch hardware. According to the official statement, it was scheduled to go live this weekend, but we were already seeing the price jumps at retail in the U.S.. Even more odd is the fact that Target was suggesting the price of the new Switch 2 Joy-Con is going up as well, and now Amazon is offering them at a discount?!

Just as a quick follow-up to this morning’s announcement, Nintendo said Nintendo Switch – OLED Model, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch Lite and select Nintendo Switch accessories, as well as select amiibo and the Nintendo Sound Clock: Alarmo” will be going up in price.

It went on to say that, while nothing was confirmed just yet, pricing could be going up on Nintendo Switch 2 consoles, physical and digital Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 games, and Nintendo Switch Online memberships in the future.

However, it did also vaguely mention that certain Nintendo Switch 2 accessories “will also see adjustments,” it just didn’t say which ones.

While aren’t sure of the entire scope of things here, Target’s official site was already reflecting the price increase on previous-generation gear as well as the new Nintendo Switch 2 Joy-Con 2 L/R – the set was listed at $99.99 just over the last hour and has now reverted back…all the way back to the original price tag before Nintendo raised the price in April (oddly enough). This is arguably resulting in a deal price at $89.99 shipped via Target and Amazon somehow.

It looks either Target jumped the gun and displayed the raised prices prematurely, or just had the whole thing wrong and reverted back. But either way there’s now technically a deal on the Switch 2 Joy-Con and you can still score the official SWitch 2 accessories at cost…for now.

The whole thing is a bit of mess at the moment, but here’s the current list of official pricing across the Switch accessory lineup – just know that some, none, or all of them could go up even higher as of this weekend or sooner:
