Pokémon Day 2026 is tomorrow, and with this year being a major 30th anniversary milestone for the pocket monster franchise, the reveals, new products, and announcements have already begun. Alongside the Walmart Pokémon Week event, the new Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen for Switch and Switch 2, coming LEGO sets, and more, eBay has also announced a special 30/30 Collection event that will, apparently, be showcasing and auctioning off some of the most sought-after and iconic pocket monster collectibles at the “original retail price.”
eBay describes its upcoming Pokémon Day event as follows:
eBay, the largest global online marketplace for trading cards, announces “The 30/30 Collection” – a curated selection of iconic Pokémon collectibles that have defined the franchise’s 30-year legacy and continue to drive demand among fans worldwide. The collection will be auctioned exclusively on eBay Live on Pokémon Day (Feb. 27), with each item starting at its original retail price.
As far as we can tell, eBay has arranged the ability to auction off some of the most iconic Pokémon paraphernalia, collectibles, card sets, and more starting at the “original retail price” instead of the exorbitant numbers some of this gear can fetch.
It also sounds a lot like it’s making it seem like they aren’t going to end up being just as pricey as they would have been anyway, but we’ll see for sure when the dedicated eBay Live stream goes up for Pokémon Day tomorrow: February 27 at 3:00 p.m. PT / 6:00 p.m. ET.
eBay says the auction will anchor a “full weekend of Pokémon programming on eBay Live, the company’s livestream shopping experience that connects collectors directly with trusted sellers in real time.”

- 2023 Pokémon x Van Gogh SVP Black Star Promo #085 Pikachu with Grey Felt Hat PSA 10: This fine art-inspired grail continues to see enduring demand on the marketplace, with eBay users searching for the card 70 times per hour in 2025.
- Additional items from across the franchise’s 30-year history will be featured during the auction.
