Are GTA VI preorders going live today? More details from leaked internal email

Are GTA VI preorders going live today? When do Grand Auto 6 preorders start? Well, Best Buy said it was today, but Rockstar has been entirely quiet, and a leaked email suggests the wait continues.

Last week Best Buy sent out an official email to its affiliate partners specifically stating Grand Theft Auto VI preorders would go live on May 18 – that’s today. 9to5Toys also received this email, as we reported shortly after, but a leaked internal email suggests Best Buy is wrong.

It all seemed a little hard to believe at the time, but it’s not crazy to think Best Buy might accidentally send out an email to affiliate partners ahead of an official announcement and pre-order launch of this magnitude. But now some 4 days or so later, with nothing from Rockstar, it’s starting to seem like Best Buy might have just got the entire internet’s hopes up for nothing.

I mean Rockstar is Rockstar and it can basically do whatever it wants – maybe it was planning to go live today and changed its mind, maybe it was going live today and pulled the plug exactly because Best Buy leaked it, and maybe it might pop up out of no where at any moment to open the flood gates.

Over on the GTA forums today, a user by the name of Graczdari_91 apparently obtained some internal European distribution company email that allegedly suggests Best Buy got it wrong, and that pre-orders aren’t actually going live today. This user did not share this email publicly on the forums or otherwise, but the emails were apparently sent to one of the GTA Forums admins for verification. This administrator has allegedly received the email:

Verified in DMs.

The company email also matches the one the member used to register on the forum, as they’ve suggested before they used their work email here.

This, if course, is not definitive and anything could happen at this point, but it might be a good idea to keep your expectations at a minimum as far as GTA VI pre-orders going live today.
