Watch the September Nintendo Direct today: 45-mins. of new Switch 2 games, more

The September Nintendo Direct goes live this morning, just after the Zelda 40th Anniversary event yesterday and the now live pre-orders for the new Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

Nintendo Direct September live today

The Hero of Time was on full display yesterday, with our first look at gameplay from the Ocarina of Time remake, the new 40th Anniversary limited edition Switch 2 console, new amiibo, Zelda LEGO, and more, leaving this morning’s mainline Direct show open for, well…everything else.

As per usual, Nintendo hasn’t given us any real hints of what to expect here, save for loads of leaks and rumors, but it does have a 45-minute runtime to fill so it must have more than a few notable titles on the slate.

The rumor mill runs the full gambit here, from a new Super Smash Bros. or a new 3D Mario teaser to end the show, right through to a look at upcoming Pokemon releases and another new StarFox game. If that Metroid Ravenous leak we covered previously is indeed the real thing, today might very well deliver our first look at a new 2D adventure with Samus from the Dread team. Even a new Wario World (or some kind of Wario experience) and Luigi’s Mansion have been mentioned.

Either way we know the broadcast will “focus on Nintendo Switch 2 games launching this winter,” which presumably means between late November and spring 2027.

The September Direct kicks off today at 7:00 a.m. PT/10:00 a.m. ET and will be immediately followed by a Nintendo Treehouse stream featuring gameplay from various titles from the show – it is still unclear whether or not the Ocarina of Time remake is included in the Treehouse or not, but we do know the livestream will last roughly 110 minutes.

Join us on September 9 at 7am PT / 10am ET for Nintendo Direct 9.9.2026. The livestream will last roughly 45 minutes and focus on Nintendo Switch 2 games launching this winter.
