Nintendo just announced one of its ‘largest promotions ever’

Alongside the now live Zelda Ocarina of Time remake pre-order deal, Nintendo just announced one of its “largest promotions ever.” It’s certainly not Black Friday yet by any means, but Nintendo has an upcoming September sale event that sounds like it (might) rival the usual fall holiday price drops.

Nintendo just took to its official news feed to announce the upcoming Customer Appreciation Sale.

Nintendo of America is describing the sale event as one of its target promotions ever, delivering dozens of solid discounts on a range go Nintendo Switch games, downloadable content, accessories, amiibo, and apparel.

Nintendo of America is excited to announce the Customer Appreciation Sale, one of our largest promotions ever, featuring 30% off dozens of Nintendo Switch digital games and bundles, plus savings on select physical games, downloadable content, accessories, amiibo, and apparel.

The sale will kick off September 12  at 9:00 p.m. PT (Midnight, September 13 on the east cost) and run through September 26.

The deals will be live on the Nintendo eShop, Nintendo Store, and participating retail locations – more than likely Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart, and Target, but the “available products and offers may vary by retailer and sales channel.”

The wording here seems to suggest the deals will only be live on switch games though, as opposed to newer Switch 2 titles, but it’s hard to say for certain:

Whether you’re jumping into a Nintendo Switch favorite for the first time, or revisiting an adventure on your Nintendo Switch or Nintendo Switch 2 system, the Customer Appreciation Sale is packed with savings on dozens of Nintendo Switch games, accessories, and more.

Nintendo, awkwardly, says the sale is its way thank players “for their continued support and is made possible in part by tariff-related refunds. While Nintendo absorbed most tariff-related costs, the refunds helped make promotions like this one possible.”
