What does the Donkey Kong Bananza amiibo do? With Nintendo’s brand-new Donkey Kong adventure now out in the wild, the game is now up for purchase and shipping from just about all major retailers alongside the brand new amiibo Nintendo released that delivers in-game perks to enhance your experience.
What do you get with the Donkey Kong Bananza amiibo?
For me, these amiibo figures are best left adorning the shelves of the game room, and I am stoked Nintendo seems to be keeping its in-house collectibles rolling into the next-generation. But, as you likely already know, they can do a whole lot more than decorate your space.
Like much of the previous amiibo releases before it, the new Donkey Kong and Pauline: Donkey Kong Bananza Series amiibo delivers some in-game bonuses when you scan it into the new Donkey Kong Bananza game.
Once you tap the Donkey Kong & Pauline amiibo figure into Bananza, you will receive the following:
- Pauline’s Diva Dress outfit
- Gold KONG tiles that can explode on impact when swung or thrown
The Diva Dress outfit for Pauline, as Nintendo previously detailed, not only changes DK’s companion’s appearance, but it also increases disc drops 2x after taking down enemies. It is, however, worth noting this outfit is not exclusive to amiibo owners – you can earn/find it in game too. It is also fueling the “rumors” that Bananza is some kind of prequel to Super Mario Odyssey, or that it is tied to that experience is some way or other considering the garb closely resembles Pauline’s dress in that game.
Previously released Donkey Kong series amiibo also have functionality in the new Bananza as well – they will unlock throwable balls or spheres you can chuck around the environment to take down enemies and transform the world around you.
