Just after the official price increase on Nintendo Switch 2 was announced on the base system, it has now issued a press release to reveal the new Nintendo Switch 2: Choose Your Game Bundle.
The price increase on Switch 2 we all basically knew was going to happen at some point finally did. Nintendo officially announced the price on the base system was jumping from $449.99 up to $499.99.
At that time, there was no mention of the Mario Kart World bundle that carries a $499.99 list and has done so since launch in summer 2025. And now, it appears Nintendo will be opening that offer up to additional games for folks looking to land a console this summer.
Starting in early June, “participating retailers” (which is probably all of the major players) will be offering the new Nintendo Switch 2: Choose Your Game Bundle for the suggested retail price of $499.99.
The new bundle, as you already guessed, include a Nintendo Switch 2 system and a download code for one of the following titles: Mario Kart World or Donkey Kong Bananza or Pokémon Pokopia. Purchasing those individually will run you $80, $70, and $70 respectively.
Much like the Mario Kart World launch bundle, you’re actually saving up to $30 here on these games, according to Nintendo. Oddly enough, this bundle costs the same as the price increase on the base system, and more less makes the whole price increase thing pointless doesn’t it?
While the new choose your game bundle is a limited time offer by the sounds of it, why would anyone just purchasing the console on its own at $500 when you can get the exact same thing with what effectively amounts to a FREE game.
Price increases suck, but at least Nintendo is giving new adopters something here.
